Inauguration of “The Way for the Parks”,
in Porto Alegre-RS

The
route “The way for the Parks” interconnects Moinhos de Vento, Farroupilha
with Guaíba’s riverside. The project is part of what is called
“Open Space System”, which tries to offer an overall view of the
city, mainly of its public and open spaces. The 5km-long way (3 meter-wide) was
completely signalized, attempting to offer more security to the users, who like
to walk, to ride bikes, to rollerblade or even to skate.
The
project was implemented by EPTC and the City
Hall, with the financial support of Banco
Santander.
The stroll for its inaugural ceremony started at 10 o’clock a.m., at Moinhos de Vento Park; has gone through several streets, until it got at Farroupilha Park, in front of the Administration building of the Federal University (UFRGS). There, it was the meeting point with the group that should come from Gasômetro with bicycles.
